We have new links at the top so you can skip my yakking and go straight to photos or movies.
But, come on, I know you all love to read the latest adventures of the Diamond family.
Anyhoo
we spent last saturday at the emergency room. Jeanette was playing around with Larry when she went to grab his eye. Instead she gave it a big poke. We thought it would be ok by itself but the next morning his eye was still red and it still hurt. We went to the emergency room and hung out there for three hours. Jeanette came with us and made friends with the little boys and girls in the waiting room. All while sitting in her stroller mind you because hey, they were in the emergency room...not a good place to play patty cake.
Larry's eye is getting better since then so all is good. He lives in sunglasses so I feel like I'm married to Ray Charles or one of the Blues Brothers.
Meanwhile Jeanette's friend Orly got a swingset. We tried it out and now Jeanette likes to hold me finger while she swings. I think it's because I leave her in the playpen to go do laundry and that does not make her happy. This way she knows where I am. I try not to protest too much because, as everyone always says, one day she will let go of that finger. and sprint. and I'll have to catch her. And Larry will take a hilarious movie of that and put it on youtube.
hmmm. what else. oh yeah, we're thinking of doing a BBQ sometime around memorial day weekend. will send invites, evites and/or just tell people.
when dressing Jeanette this morning she let me put on the bottoms but not the top. What's impressive is she can still do a good game of chase even if I'm the one holding her finger. If I let go of her finger....well, she goes into EMERGENCY CRAWL MODE and continues to flee. She can still crawl. and she will crawl if she must get somewhere that mommy or daddy are not going to help her get to.
we also do evening bath chase. When Daddy is home for bathtime Jeanette takes him byu the hand and has him walk her around. When Mommy is ready to pick her up and undress her for her bath the pursuit up and down the hallway begins. Again, LArry could let go her finger but
1) what fun would that be?
2) there is always EMERGENCY CRAWL MODE
Jeanette is also getting resistant to diapers changes. It's less like getting dressed and more like tangling with Randy macho man savage. The only way I can get her to sit still is to sing the popping bubbles song at high speed in a high register (she is so gonna love the chipmunks christmas album one day) or sing "Doofy the Marketing Puppet"
Yes, we made up our own nursery rhyme. Larry was inspired one day after I bought a puppet from one of the nursery places Jeanette plays at (trying to avoid lawsuit here so bear with us)
I'm Doofy, the marketing puppet
Doofy the marketing puppet
Doofy the marketing puppet
Doof Doof Doof Doof Doof
(ok, we're not keeping They might be giants or Laurie Berkner up at night)
