Parks, swimsuits and 1989

it has been hot the past couple of weeks. After my first sunburn i think i may have something resembling a tan. Jeanette is enjoying this walking thing. especially when she can run. it's cute when toddlers run...you can still catch them. oh toddlers are just cute. she was dressed in a disney princess t-shirt with a miniskirt lined with taffeta and pink sneakers. if i wore the same outfit i would be arrested for something. on Jeanette it just looked incredibly cute.
we visit lots of the local parks. Jeanette loves the sprinkler parks. she just runs in and out of the sprinklers. she'll be doing swimming lessons this summer so that should be fun. we already got the kiddie pool out and we know mommy has no shame when she goes out into the pool wearing a big black swimsuit with orange flowers. Wore the same suit to the Atlantic Beach club and knew I was surrounded by mothers because no one even noticed the suit.
Speaking of swimsuits Jeanette has a suit with a floatie pad in it. No one told me how hysterical these suits are. First I have to stuff this poor child in the suit. while pulling the suit up I bounced her like a marionette. MY friends 3 year old daughter thought it was quite entertaining. When I was done Jeanette looked like she was ready to play football. my friends son had a similar suit and seeing the two kids run together they looked like mini wrestlers.
After all this Jeanette spent 3 minutes in the water but didnt like when her hair got wet so I held her above the water in the pool the rest of the time because she didnt really want to leave the pool yet either.

I missed most of the tv season this year. I was disappointed when Sanjaya was not the next american idol. how could you not like a guy who can hula. Sanjaya doing the hula would be an awesome screensaver.

my niece is graduating high school. this is cool. considering that she was born the year I graduated high school. like whoa.
(I was almost going to ask if people still say that but either way I believe I would be depressed by the answer)

I also have a nephew born the same year I graduated college (the first time....at the rate I'm going I'll have a grandchild born the same year I get my CPA). so, when he graduates college I get to relive the "whoa". That should be about 2015.

Song of the day: "Alone Again" by Dokken (who I believe were on their way out of the mainstream in 1989 but played secretly in cars to this day)
